Though the subject matter may be a bit stomach turning to some, (particularly the first two verses) it's hard to deny the fact that the soulful piano combined with a catchy sample give off that perfect mellow vibe and make this song something you'll likely have on repeat while studying or just trying to relax after a long day of class or work.
Though wale and J. Cole do rip the first verse of this song; the real star here is Curren$y. Much to my surprise, Curren$y delivered what could only be described as a lazy yet still rhythmic and consistent flow that improves on what is already decent song.
To be honest, for a while i thought of Curren$y as just another face in the already over saturated southern rap industry (albeit one with impressive producers backing it) but after hearing this he may have a new fan in this reporter. Take a listen for yourselves.
Well I couldn't stay away for too long. After a long and some what interesting summer I've finally returned to my true loves: Movies, Music, and Manga.
Even through the occasional eventfulness of this past summer, from time to time I couldn't help but think that my few friends who are either music lovers, movie buffs, or Otaku fan boys/girls might be missing out on some of the latest news and releases due to the fact that I took a sudden yet predictable hiatus. Fortunately, I've returned, and I haven't done so empty handed.
The following will be a fairly detailed list of updates and announcements for this new year:
Manga: My first lady (momma manga) will now be the central focus of Tri-Emm. This doesn't mean that by any means am I abandoning music or movie reviews but I'd much rather pour the majority of my focus into the thing I love the most (which also happens to be the main thing my viewers come to me for).
That being said, I'm sure many of you are likely wondering whats been going on in the worlds of your favorite manga. Fortunately, this Friday I'll be giving you guys some detailed summaries to bring you up to speed in the worlds of Naruto, Soul Eater, and Bleach (which I've decided to bring back to Tri-Emm for the sake of you fans).
Music: Now I know I said the music portion of Tri-Emm will be down played but that's not to say I that it'll drop at all in quality (as a matter of fact since i am compressing the music focus of this page I'll have more room to be more thoughtful and insightful in my music posts).
My music posts will now revolve around a segment titled "You Ought 2 Listen". In this section I'll hopefully be able to expose my viewers to artists in rock, R&b, and rap who I feel are talented yet given little exposure and often looked over.
lastly I'll be restocking my music player with new tracks so those of you that have grown a bit sick of the current line up, fear not. You'll be able to enjoy the fruits of my summer music treasure hunt very soon.
Movies: I noticed something while reviewing films. people aren't fans of luke warm reviews. Now when i say luke warm i mean reviews that aren't either extremely negative or overwhelmingly positive but rather just ho-hum and passable. For this reason, I've decided to devote the movies portion of Tri-Emm to a segment called black and white reviews. Once during each quarter of the year I'll be doing this segment in which I review the most entertaining films(white)and the complete dog sh** films(black) of that quarter. I've yet to decide whether or not these will be written reviews or video reviews but since the summer session is coming to a close, you'll know very soon.
Any updates or changes I'll be making that I haven't mention here, I'll be sure to make you guys aware of as they occur. Hopefully this year will be a good one and whenever you guys need your fix of movies, music, or manga I hope you'll come to me.
